Logging Policy
A VPN is only as trustworthy as its logging policy, because you are routing your traffic through it. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what Impact Shield VPN does and does not record.
What we do NOT log
We do not record your online activity. Specifically, we do not keep logs of:
- The websites, services, or apps you connect to
- Your browsing history or DNS queries
- The content of your traffic
- The specific data you send or receive through the VPN tunnel
- A mapping between your identity and the sites you visit
We cannot share what we do not have.
What we do collect
To run the service, enforce plan limits, and keep the App stable, we keep a limited amount of information:
- Account data — such as your email and user ID, when you create an account or subscribe.
- Subscription status — provided by Google Play, so we know whether your plan is active.
- Free-tier data usage — for accounts on the free plan, we measure the total volume of data used (to enforce the free allowance). We measure how much data is used, never what that data contains or where it goes.
- Aggregated, anonymized diagnostics — crash reports and performance data that help us fix bugs and improve reliability. This data is not used to identify your activity.
Why we collect it
Each item above exists for a specific operational reason — authenticating your account, honoring your subscription, applying the free-tier limit, or keeping the App from crashing. None of it reveals what you do online.
Third-party analytics
The App uses services such as Firebase and AppsFlyer for crash reporting, attribution, and product analytics. These process aggregated or anonymized data and are governed by their own privacy policies, which are listed in our Privacy Policy.
Our commitment
Protecting your privacy is the core of this product. If our logging practices ever change, we will update this page and reflect the change in our Privacy Policy before it takes effect.
